Inspired by the timeless ballet Giselle, this silkscreen print captures the haunting beauty of this classic tale of love, betrayal, and the supernatural. At the top of the artwork, Myrtha, the merciless Queen of the Wilis, appears with a veil of spectral maidens—spirits of betrayed women who lure unfaithful lovers to their doom. These ghostly maidens loom over Giselle, who clutches her heart, caught between worlds.

Giselle tells the story of a young peasant girl who falls in love with a nobleman disguised as a villager. When she discovers his deception, her heart breaks, leading to her tragic death. In the afterlife, Giselle joins the Wilis, vengeful spirits who dance men to their deaths. But when her lover, Albrecht, visits her grave, Giselle’s enduring love helps her forgive him, ultimately saving his life from Myrtha’s wrath.
